Throwing, Firing, and Glazing
I have recently spent time in the studio of NYC based artist, Reinaldo Sanguino. Located just outside of Manhattan in Long Island City, Sanguino's home away from home boasts the wheel in which he throws and two firing kilns, operated solely by himself. He is well-known for making ceramic stools and gothic black, towering crowns which have been featured in numerous magazines including W (online), Elle Decor, Traveler, and Wallpaper Magazines. His abstract, almost graffiti like aesthetic, mixes perfectly with almost any home's interior style.
